About Us
8 Years of Café Auszeit
When we, Sandra and Pierce, opened Café Auszeit in Constance in August 2017, we had a simple dream: to create a place where everyone feels as relaxed and welcome as they do with good friends. Pierce brought his Canadian warmth, I (Sandra) brought my love of coffee and cake – and together we created a place we could be proud of.
Fast forward over 740 glowing Google reviews, and we're still just as grateful as on day one. Every morning, we're excited all over again – by the scent of fresh pancakes and coffee, by the familiar faces sharing their weekend stories over brunch, by students enjoying breakfast until 12:30 PM, or by new friendships sparked over homemade cake.
So, what makes Café Auszeit special? We cook and bake with heart:
• Canadian pancakes with real maple syrup (Pierce's secret recipe!)
• Fresh daily breakfast and lunches made with regional ingredients
• Homemade cakes & snacks – customer favorites and new weekly creations
• Seasonal drink specialties, like – iced creamy coffee & cold brew coffee
• Vegetarian and vegan options – because everyone's welcome

Should I reserve a table?
You can reserve a table with us anytime. We especially recommend making a reservation for weekend breakfast and Sunday brunch by calling +49 7531 127 42 77.
Please note:
- Weekend afternoons: No reservations available
- Group size: Max. 8 people on weekends
- Terrace: No reservations possible
- First come, first served
Can I get breakfast, coffee and cake to go?
Yes, all food and drinks are available for takeaway – from our pancakes and sandwiches to coffee or smoothies. Just ask when ordering!
As a self-service café, you order directly at the counter and pick up your food there. This way, you can flexibly choose your spot after ordering and enjoy your break.
Do you have parking spaces?
We recommend the Schänzle Sports Hall as the nearest parking alternative (5-minute walk). Do not park at the Fristo beverage market parking lot, as your vehicle will be towed.
Do you offer WiFi?
At Auszeit, our goal is for guests to actually talk to each other and spend less time on their devices. Like in the good old days. For this reason, we don't offer WiFi. We appreciate your understanding.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are not allowed inside the café, only on the terrace outside.
Do you have vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free options?
Yes! We offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free alternatives for breakfast,
cakes and drinks. Our team will be happy to advise you on available options.
